Tehachapi Mountains, California
Limited Edition of 2500 | Artist Proof 250
An explosion of wildflowers blanket central California's rolling hillsides following well-timed and copious winter rains. Fields of lupine, poppies, and the ubiquitous yellow daisy-like flowers referred to by amateur botanists and wildflower enthusiasts as DYC's, or "darned-yellow composites," crop up when the spring sun shines. At home in these fields are coyotes and deer, bumblebees and sometimes, even cougar. For a few weeks during extraordinary years, on average only one in ten, these hillsides go from understated, to magical.
