2936 Teton Teddy
Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming
There is still time to play, as a grizzly bear cub relishes his last few weeks under his mother's watchful eyes. Born to the bear known by researchers and locals as "399", this cub and his two siblings survived one of the longest winters and heaviest snowfalls, at over 600 inches. With deep snow still covering the ground in April 2008, food is scarce, most of the winter carrion has already been eaten by wolves. Unaware of the long road ahead, this little guy will face a whole new series of challenges come summer, when his mother leaves her cubs so that she may breed again. Edition of 2500.
