Bigtooth maples spark the Snake River Canyon ablaze just as the first snap of autumn rushes the narrows between Jackson, Wyoming and Idaho's Star Valley. Interspersed with intricate groves of aspen trees, these crimson and orange hues are the first sign that summer is officially over. Soon enough, the aspens will go gold, the bare willow branches, burgundy, and winter will push in fast on the heels of a brief, but beautiful, fall.
