6202 Shelter from the Sea
Arnarstapi, West Iceland
A coastal farm on the bluffs of West Iceland binds the history of this land with the Sagas, prose accounts that detail the country's discovery and settling in the tenth and eleventh centuries. This farm, near the village of Arnarstapi, presides over the many species of birds that nest on its cliffs. Herring gulls and kittiwakes, numbering in the hundreds, are among the most common. Edition of 2500. Cibachrome print.
