As the valley snowpack begins to dwindle in mid-April, Grizzly 399 leads her four cubs south to avoid the much deeper snow in the northern part of her range. Not long after she and the cubs went their separate ways, 399 was seen cavorting with a male, giving hope that her legacy would grow even more.
