Tehachapi Mountains, California
Limited Edition of 2500 | Artist Proof 250
Full fields of wildflowers in central California are far rarer than one might imagine. Poppies, lupine and globe gilia transform a hillside that, during any other time of year, would go largely overlooked. Several theories of why California is called the "Golden State" include the monumental gold rush era of the mid-1800s, the rolling golden hills that stretch from Northern- to Southern California and, of course, the prolific displays of orange poppies, the state flower, during certain years.
