Scent of Spring
Tehachapi Mountains, California
Limited Edition of 1200 | Artist Proof 120
The high desert climate of southern California's Tehachapi Valley, combined with abundant rainfalls during the winter season, gives birth to a rare but resplendent display of wildflowers. For a brief period in April, California poppies, lacy phacilia, goldfields, globe gilia, among other species fill the Tehachapi air with the rich, beautiful scent of spring. The silty soil of the Mojave Desert creates ideal conditions for the slender yet resilient root-systems of many species. Wildflowers thrive in variable conditions across the landscape, depending on the soil and the angle and intensity of sunlight.
