Limited Edition of 3000 | Artist Proof 300
The hush of winter falls over a working farm in northern Minnesota. An icon of the prairie states, the history of red barns began as a result of a mixture of linseed oil, lime, milk and ferrous oxide-rust-applied to strengthen and seal the wood. Besides protecting the barn from fungus, it gave the structure the red color that is still in fashion today. Other historians note that blood from that years' slaughter may have been added to the mixture, increasing the intensity of the color.
